The public meeting at Ripley on 10 November attracted over 70 attendees, including two of the candidates for the East Midlands Mayor, MEMRAP’s sponsoring MP, and the Amber Valley District Council leader, all of whom briefly addressed the meeting. There were also other Amber Valley District Council members present, and a Derbyshire Dales District Council member who stated that their “door is open” to MEMRAP. The vast majority was in favour of reinstating the railway.
